I've just been looking at the Sky EPG for next Saturday, and it appears that 'Weekend' begins after an ITV News update at 8:25: so it seems that ITN are to provide at least some input during the ITV Breakfast franchise hours.

Perhaps this explains why the branding of graphics is going to be similar.

The news originally aired at 8:25, when Saturday Cookbook aired at half past.

Isn't there also a new update at 9.25am after weekend aswell?

Apologies if this has already been mentioned - but will Weekend use a similar set to Good Morning Britain, or completely different?

With Kate (potentially unofficially) announcing that she is joining GMB and Ranvir confirming she is Susanna's Friday cover, I wonder what Kate's role is actually going to be? Just Lorraine cover maybe, has anything been announced?

Aled tweeted that he had seen the Weekend set so i think we can assume it is different to GMB.

It was suggested earlier the Weekend won't be filmed at the London Studios, because its being produced by Cactus.
Also I don't know if its been mentioned but I've read in multiple places, not just wiki, that it wont be broadcast live, rather filmed on a wednesday and thursday. Which would be weird considering they could film two 50 minute episodes in one day surely?! and it would reduce costs too!

Cactus have their own studio facilities. I think it would be a bad idea to pre-record.

Especially if there's, you know, a news story that's happened after Wednesday.

'Weekend' is not a news show, so it doesn't need to be live. It's just a chat show with a few features thrown in.

Be a good sunday morning if Sunday Side Up/Scoop returns then that's 3 live hours of entertainment every sunday

I think LIVE is a good idea, it is good to talk about all of the latest news stories and developments around the world, along with the special guests and music etc...
