Due to Aljazeera being banned from reporting in Egypt and on the heels of Aljazeera staff members imprisoned for endangering national security and aiding a terrorist organization. Strange thing happened on AJAM last night. For one of the AJE simulcasts, my Comcast feed (which is normally 4:3 SD) switched to 16:9 letterboxed for the duration of the Newshour. The next hour, which was also an AJE simulcast, switched back to 4:3, and everything since then has been 4:3.

I really wish the full HD feed was available already. Are there any cable companies carrying it?

Just spotted on AJE, Barbra Serra, who is a regular London anchor, in the Doha newsroom presenting from there.

Do the London anchors do this often? I think if I remember correctly I saw Felicity Barr presenting from Doha earlier this year.

That makes sense. Daily sports coverage on news channels is more of a European tradition that I don't think makes a lot of sense, especially in the U.S. market. I also don't mind seeing The Stream as a concept scaled back, though I hope Lisa Fletcher doesn't go anywhere. She's a great presenter.

It also looks like they've officially taken Libby Casey off the morning show with Del Walters and replaced her with Stephanie Sy. Good move in my book too.
