It reminds be of a CNN Headline News promo from many years ago, poking fun at the news priorities of many morning shows:
PERKY MORNING SHOW ANCHOR #1: Big events happening overseas...
PERKY MORNING SHOW ANCHOR #2: But first: Is your pet psychic? We'll find out.
This dogs v cats stuff is like a poor spoof

There was a pre-launch article in the Standard about Vanessa and how she'd come from a solely regional news background and therefore had no experience in weather or traffic presenting. There was no explanation in the article as to why they actually hired her for this role and judging by this thread it was a disastrous move.

This from OFCOM's March update:
ESTV bulletin request accepted by Ofcom
Ofcom received a request from ESTV for a change to the programming commitments in its local TV licence to remove its commitment to hourly/half hourly news bulletins. Ofcom does not consider this to be a material change to the licence. It has therefore agreed to modify the licence as this change to news bulletins would not alter the stations’ commitment to provide 5.5 hours of news and current affairs coverage or affect other programming commitments.

Here's what a proper travel update should look like - everything you need to know in less than a minute...
It would have been well worth their while spending a few hundred quid sending Vanessa to over to the US to shadow one of the many morning travel presenters (in addition to getting a proper supplier of traffic info). I'm guessing they didn't do this.

After a couple of days of the live output. I feel they launched too quickly. Errors such as the communication to the presenter about which picture they were using for the pet feature and Vanessa's travel and weather bulletins should have been ironed out before they went on-air.
Give it a couple of months and I think they'll be some on-air personnel changes to the on-air team with Ms Bafoe moving to a VJ role which is better suited to her skills. Wake Up London really should be double-headed. Possibly using Maleena Pone as a co-presenter who has been the exception to the rule on London Go.

I was under the impression that Marc Edwards was the sole presenter of Wake Up London. Have I missed something with Gavin on this morning? Surely Marc can't be off on day two!

A longer version of any of the traffic bulletins done on BBC London or ITV London over the years is basically what they should be doing. TFL info, traffic cameras etc.
I haven't seen the bulletins but it sounds like the sort of travel they do on Capital, basically just enough to say they are doing travel, read in an unauthorative voice by someone who you get the feeling doesn't have a clue where any of the places they are talking about actually are.
