I guess this spells the end for Kate's role at Daybreak?[/quote:0647742843]

The distance between The London Studios and Global Radio's broadcast hub in Leicester Square isn't that far. If she still presents Lorraine on a Friday, she should be able to get in with time to spare for her 10am show on Smooth Radio.

She won't be presenting "Lorraine" on Fridays though, Lorraine has already announced that she will be presenting the show five days a week herself.

Good on her, in the past couple of year she has been wasted on Daybreak. I reckon its likely she will to leave the show.

You mean Lorraine will actually be presenting Lorraine? Shocked Now I've seen everything!
Although, I will miss screaming at my TV whenever I watch Lorraine and Kate is presenting it.

Seriously, lots of people on here moan about how Lorraine Kelly is always 'off', when in reality she presents most of the time, does full months when there's no holidays. And so what if she does take a lot of holiday during half term and summer etc, none of your business!
also, i think the Friday edition of Lorraine will be pre recorded? Monday to Thursday isn't too bad, it's rival breakfast's main presenters only do a 3 day week, and a mish mash Sunday. Complain about that! Laughing
Also, Kate Garraway is a capible presenter who is as good as Lorraine, although sometimes annoying! imo.

I was meaning to point out the fact that it would be better if it was just Lorraine that presented her show. If she was off, I think it would be a better idea to continue Daybreak until 9.25. Somebody called Kate presenting a show called 'Lorraine' is rather strange, to me anyway. For example, back when GMTV was on, there was no Lorraine on a Friday, so they just continued the main show.

I see nothing wrong with Lorraine having a day off and Kate presenting her show, named "Lorraine" every now and then - but, if during the summer holidays, during the September/October week, during the Easter holidays or if she is meant to be away I think it makes sense to rename the show after the "occasional backup" presenter or a generic name if a week of guest presenters (or a week of Myleene Klass)

They should have done a talent search for a stand in - main criteria is you have to be named Lorraine.

Something wrong with graphics today on Daybreak, looked at the 6am opening and there is no live flashes and they aired the titles without the mask which meant a hard cut and the start of the theme sounding cut off.

Nah, to me it looks like they've dropped the 'live' graphic, it wasn't shown at all today. Also, i noticed that the jib wasn't in use today, as there was only very slight movement, possibly up to studio 5 for gmb?

I watched the 6am and 7am open and the jib was being used Was also used for all of the into and out of breaks.
