I dont believe its been talked about on here. But ABC NEWS and UNIVISION, which is American Spanish Language network. Launch a news and information channel. Initially the talk was that it was going to be geared more toward English-speaking young Latinos. Well focus shifted before launch and they now aiming to speak to youths across the spectrum, still with a Latino focus (or something like that). Anyway the channel is headquartered in Miami sharing a facility I beleive with UNIVISION. They are created a large open newsroom and several sets surrounding the newsroom. I have the channel but dont watch. They sets are interesting but a little OTT. I dont like the channel content. Viral video, pop stuff. blah blah blah.

I dont get the point of the channel. I frankly cant see this working long term. Youth-focused news channels have been tried and havent really taken off. But with the mainstream news channels doing pop culture stuff now and viral videos and discussing crap endlessly, I dont see where this channel will take off. They dont cover breaking news persay. So i dont really get it. I feel it a bit jaring to hear english being spoken and then suddenly the adverts are in spanish. I dont know...I'll just say the whole experiment is interesting albeit expensive venture.

Which is a joke. A Sad Joke.
I'll take: "AROUND THE WORLD IN 30 MINUTES, THIS CNN HEADLIIIINE NEWS!" Over Nancy Grace screaming "Tot-Mom, Tot-Mom.. GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY" every 30 secs. Complete Joke.

I have some notes about Fusion that i would like to share...
1) Although the original plan was to launch Fusion as a news channel, it was later changed to a cable channel that has news programming due to Fusion also carrying satirical shows and documentaries.
2) Univision moved their entire news division into the facility and the main newscast Noticiero Univision was also moved to the building.
3) The channel is being geared to not just English-speaking Hispanics in the United States (which was the original audience for Fusion), but also English-speaking "millennials" (a fancy word for the youth i.e 18-24)

St. Louis station launches news boat

KTVI-TV, the Fox affiliate in St. Louis, has unveiled a new type of news vehicle — a boat.

The boat, which has been dubbed “AquaFOX,” is sponsored by a local water sports company, was debuted at the St. Louis Boat & Sportshow.

AquaFOX joins the station’s SkyFOX helicopter as well as a fleet of more traditional automobiles. And, like those vehicles, AquaFOX featured prominent station branding along with an even larger logo of its sponsor, Stateamind Water Sports.

While you may not think of St. Louis as being a city that needs a boat to cover the news, the station points out that its viewing area has the Mississippi River running directly through it.

In addition, the station plans to use AquaFOX to share boat and water safety stories in partnership with its sponsor.

CCTV's Xinwen Lianbo bulletin from 1995 as seen on ATV, in full. Worth a compare with English Wikipedia users' description of its past.

Judging from what I see, some parts were chopped out in ATV's broadcast.

Just to clarify, I don't think Hinch was the immediate predecessor to Today Tonight. At the very least, 'Real Life' with Stan Grant was in place for a couple of years (I think?).
