Looks like we might get to hear the closing theme before friday. Neighbours have just tweeted this:

Sounds like they've taken the tempo down a couple of BPM to make it last longer! Kind of the opposite technique applied by Atlantic 252 in the 90s...

From tomorrow they will be using a shorter remixed version of the Australian Friday closing theme on the opening titles. Good to see the producers listened to feedback, and we now have all the opening theme song lyrics back, first time since 1989.

I have to agree a good job around. I never know there had taken out the line "Neighbours should be there for one and other!

Much better considering its unlikely, but I do not know, that both singers went back to rerecord the theme.

The new titles still feature Lucas & Vanessa in the final street shot.

Doubt it, they would have recorded versions with and without the theme behind it. I still think the female vocal needs to be dropped altogether though.

I have to ask, Are Land of OZ also using the Second version: IE the better one with the old lyrics?

Yes the newer version is used in Australia. The only difference Oz screens get is the longer version closing credits on a Friday, which also features the full original theme (actually the correct speed version, as the opening theme is this version speeded up slightly).
