Also a new view of the newsroom at the TOTH, with the camera looking up to higher floors, then panning down to the newsroom.
I remember them playing with that view when Lizzie came to visit and thought it'd look good. Nice to see it come in, although do they have to warn the upper floors that they could be on air now?

Sorry for the awful quality. Roll on HD...

Looks as though they've updated the countdown sequence too. 11am version featured Gavin Esler and Mark Kermode chatting on location.

For anyone who's missed it there are some superb images of NBH on the eternal dreams site that so wonderfully documented TVC.

Seeing the 'Breathing' sculpture on the roof of the John Peel Wing, I remember it being discussed that once the move as complete it would feature in the open and close to the 10 O'Clock News (as that's when it lights up). If only something had come of that.

They should have definitely done that for the Ten its a waste of a very good view when it only comes on during breakdowns.

Don't you worry, from what I hear you'll be seeing a lot more of the exterior of NBH later.

Did anyone record the 10am, 11am or 12pm TOTH's? Could someone upload one of them?

I have a technical query, would it be possible for the data streams to be placed into the live camera feed shot that we see when there are breakdowns, or would it be a bit too complicated. I am thinking along the lines of a live end shot for the countdowns mainly as an idea.

Anything's technically possible, it's just a matter of how complicated it is!

If they wanted to do that it would be added in the gallery rather than add to the camera. The easiest way to do it is have thought would be to add the graphics as a key onto the end of the countdown sequence and then mix it in live

Another tweaked opening on the News Channel today. After the headlines were read out at mid-day, the titles played as normal, but when the trundle cam was cued, the trundle cam was still over by the weather presenter where it had been since "crossing the newsroom" for the mid-day weather. The trundle cam reversed it's course and panned to the right to show the outside of Studio E (in a similar way to it used to, but it didn't do the zoom). When the camera in Studio E was cued to carry out it's sweeping shot, the camera was in a locked off static position.

Thanks, just that seeing the shot every so often it makes a brilliant end shot of the countdown it would be.

If only BBC World News could create promotions like these, and not mess it up with some crap.
