Why can't they move the cycling or BTCC onto ITV3?

They probably could, but it would probably lose them money.

Apart from a couple of sessions from the French Open they rarely use ITV3 for sport anymore. Of course too ITV itself could easily accommodate a couple of hours of live cycling and it would be a great shop window for the forthcoming ITV4 coverage, but considering they showed nothing of the Tour de France this year live on ITV it's just not going to happen.

It's been confirmed that Alan Hansen is to leave the BBC after the 2014 World Cup.

Seems all good natured.

The BBC are to cover the World Squash Championships in Manchester at the end of October, with live coverage on the website and red button from the quarter final stage and highlights on BBC2. Not sure if the BBC has screened squash outside of the Commonwealth Games for a long time - certainly doubt it's ever had more than short bursts on Grandstand.

Yes, I remember the British Open got a highlights package on Grandstand in years gone by. I think squash is the firm favourite to win a place in the 2020 Olympics and, with GB being rather good at it, I presume the BBC are banking on future success. I'm sure the BBC2 coverage will be a Monday afternoon highlights package but still, great to see more minority sport getting exposure.

I think the late Tony Gubba commentated on it.

I think the late Tony Gubba commentated on it.

How much of it did he end up missing then?

There was a rare MOTD feed today at 24.5w I didn't try it though the one time I did watch their feed it was completely clean no wipe effects, the commentry was done as per live.
MOTD feeds aren't rare; though they're normally on fibre, not satellite.

That is what I meant sorry, rare in the fact it was on satellite.

Its been a while since I've since one, do the beeb get all their premier league games complete with the standard premier league wipe and the beeb edit it but not show this on MOTD?

Do you seriously find that kind of comment funny?

Not particularly, I just felt poster was dropping in the word 'late' was for the sake of it. Almost as being overly concerned about appearing to be seen as respectful. To be fair I'm sure I've done it.

I don't think people should find offence in it, I was making fun of the term rather than Tony's sad loss.

I don't think it's been mentioned that BBC Sport NI's online only Final Score 2 is now known as The Irish League Show, a much more logical name. They've also made some improvements to the set as well this time round.

I'd be interested to know how many people watch the show, especially as the packages seem to be available to view on a individual basis.
