I think the 'converted warehouse' apartment style used here is how Daybreak should've had its original windows rather than the modern open plan room.

It looks a lot better. I never understood why they covered the windows in the first place. It looks like they've got rid of the fake brickwork to show the actual ones around the windows.

They have got some transparent screens if the sunlight gets too much, they used them yesterday, but it did make they set look a little too dark.

So slight it might not be noticeable to some but some changes to the shade of red used on endboards, coming up menus and so on.

Hardly worth updating the presentation if the change is going to be that minor!!

Five seem to be using a new male continuity announcer today (December 9). Anyone know who it is? As daytime continuity is pre-recorded I'm guessing the same voice was heard Sunday evening.

Just seen the 'Baubles' ident. It's third outing.

A bit odd how they didn't launch it before their Christmas Toy Giveaway programme last night. It's cost cutting all around it seems this year.

A real shame they don't make the effort now considering over the years they've had some brilliant Christmas idents, while even now they have some brilliant occassional idents to launch certain shows. Surely wouldn't be too difficult to do some kind of screen ident in a snowy landscape.

I'm surprised they haven't kept the bauble, but added new elements to the warehouse.

I still think that the 2001 package is my favourite from channel 5

Still probably the classiest Christmas idents they've ever had, quite a jump from what they had just a year or two previously. It's very similar to the 1991 BBC2 package. Brilliant incorporation of the C5 musical motif as well.
