Important to note that Seven News at 7 is on Seven's multichannel 7Two. Home&Away is safe on Seven at 7 Very Happy

Although H&A only runs four days a week at the moment with a double episode once a week.

Is it just me, or does Doyle seem positively thrilled about Abbott's poll bounce? With the possible exception of Fox News hosts, most anchors tend to have a more serious demeanor when reading political news items.

Both Seven and Nine are backers of Sky News Australia, along with BSkyB, and editorially favour the "Liberal" Party (was ever a party totally misnamed, it's pure conservatism.) over the Labour Party. There's no expectation in Australia to political neutrality.

What a strange design for a news desk. Looks like a totally solid top. Do the presenters not do anything but read prompter or paper scripts? Couldn't see a laptop or PC monitor/keyboard for them to do any copy-tasting, fact-checking, cue re-writing etc.? Are they literally "gobs on sticks"?

Or is there a laptop (or keyboard+screen) lurking under the desk or off to one side?

No titles for it either...I would imagine there would be a keyboard and monitor lurking underneath that desk somewhere.

I actually can't believe that BSkyB own a share in what has become the ugliest news channel I've ever seen. Here are some caps of Sky News National, Sky News Business Channel and Sky News Weather Channel.

As for the whole Seven News laptop discussion, the other studio sometimes used in national bulletins (in Melbourne) has a laptop on the desk occasionally.
