Sorry if this is incorrect , but if I remember correctly the budget for 5 news isn't that big. And they have had quite a few new sets in the past few years , so surely it's more cost effective to have a VR set. I also think the studio isn't that big either.

The studio is as big as it appears onscreen.

I mean most VR Sets would be able to be built in real life Channel 5 News and the Current ITV News Set would be examples of that

I don't think that is true for the ITV News set - in real life it wouldn't extend as high as it does, and the galleries would have to be screens.

The Gallery could just be an LED Wall or a BARCO Wall although admittedly it would look about 10 times worse.

Tonights weather is being presented by former Daybreak weather presenter Kirsty McCabe.

Yep, she's covering for Sian Welby all week.

Any ideas why they use a barely-trained former Topshop sales assistant during the week, but then replace her with actual qualified weather forecasters if she's off? I'd have expected them just to use a producer and/or young hot unpaid intern instead...

I think it's a clause in the contract to be able to use Met Office data that you must use Met Office trained weather presenters. All the weather presenters you see on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky have all had that training, and I wouldn't call any of them barely trained. At some TV stations in other parts of the world, you actually have fully trained meteorologists presenting the weather and preparing the forecasts.

They have totally ruined what was perfect. How can you have a very beautiful and supremely confident female news reader as Emma siting behind a huge desk ??!

Utter madness in every way, this is a massive backward step for sure

Also hurry up 5 HD getting on freesat, I only realized recently the studio is in HD now

How does sitting behind a desk effect her presenting, how does it make her less attractive?

Hmm I didn't expect this type of question. Can't make her less attractive It just seems awkward for her, less freedom, I am just use to seeing the full Emma not half of her, don't like it myself anyway

It has totally taken away the slickness and professional feel of the show, I certainly never expected to see any gigantic desk on 5 news that's for sure !

She was only covering someone's maternity leave, whilst she was pregnant herself. She only gave birth 2 months ago.
