Intriguing that the Celtic match KO's in what will also be the first Saturday of the Premier League Season. Are BT opting out of grabbing the first fixture usually at 1245, their slot, on that day?

Presumably they will just show it on BT Sport 2 if there is a clash.

Incidentally with the re-integration of the SPL and SFL this season, all the divisions, or at least the SPL, will presumably have new names. There were reports from some quarters that the daft naming structure the Football League adopted some years back was being imported into Scotland, though I note the SPFL press release isn't actually naming the divisions so maybe they're waiting for a sponsor to come on board - indeed at time of writing the Premier League is the only professional league in England or Scotland that actually has a title sponsor.

... answered my own question tonight, seems that the Scottish Matches, as with the Europa League and FA Cup will be on the ESPN branded channel not BT Sport 1 or 2. Makes sense for rights purposes.

Charles Sale reporting that BT's opening Premier League match will be Liverpool v Stoke.

He says Sky are showing Swansea v Man Utd and Chelsea v Hull - and I imagine they will also show Man City v Newcastle and Crystal Palace v Spurs.

Full first set of live fixtures out tomorrow, supposedly at 11am.

Apparently this is the new BT Sport studio...

It is indeed. Lots of neat little tricks in it, loads of different presentation points - oh, and that floor does actually light up.

BT has rationalised channel numbers across both it's IPTV platforms (BTV and BT YouView) for BT Sport
507 - BT Sport 1 - SD
508 - BT Sport 2 - SD
509 - ESPN (- SD)*
510 - BT Sport 1 - HD
511 - BT Sport 2 - HD
(512 - ESPN - HD*)
* SD only until 01-Aug-2013
ESPN has now been closed on 34 on BTV boxes, SS1 and SS2 remain on 41 and 42 respectively.

The gap from 501-506 seems telling to me, maybe, just maybe reserved for
501 - SS1
502 - SS2
503 - SS3
504 - SS4
505 - SSF1
506 - SS News
Pending negotiations.

Seems odd they would reserve the higher slots for Sky channels though.

Has ESPN closed on Top up TV yet?

And put SD channels in front of the HD versions. I'm unfamiliar with BT Vision -- are most customers only able to watch in SD? Is the hardware not able to swap SD/HD versions (like the Sky/Freesat EPGs)?
