4:3 safe area on BackStory right now, but do I expect changing it the next edition?

Thanks for the video clips, Rados (ginnyfan). It really looks good in widescreen!

Lucky for them, unfotunately we, living in the Philippines, can only get the widescreen version if we subscribe to CNN International HD on the higher tier packages. Sad

Interesting that there is postage-stamp/window-box material cropping up (16:9 content letterboxed to 4:3 and then pillarboxed back to 16:9 - giving thick black borders all the way round the active picture) I guess there are still 4:3 systems in use?

Amazing to think the BBC were running News 24 in 16:9 in Nov 1997, and it was available in homes in 16:9 in Nov 1998 (over 14 years ago)

We only get 16:9 content letterboxed to 4:3 in the Philippines, unfortunately.

Atlanta is still 4:3 as expected, until June 17.

Abu Dhabi too, not sure when that will change.

Maybe Atlanta will be 16:9 if the new set is ready for the launch, maybe June 17 as you say.

Disappointed to see "Quest Means Business" still in 4:3 here in the UK.

Yes, London prime time is still 4:3, not sure why. Abu Dhabi hour as well and I expect HK mornings to be too. Well, with CNN all changes are painstakingly slow. I guess it's hard to coordinate it all when you broadcast from 4 centers.
