The 1pm edition of Het Journaal (from the new set) is now available at the VRT website:

Also, a montage of South Korea's MBC Newsdesk over the years (it's an extended version of a montage already posted here, with a few more examples, including their new set, launched last year) - and yes, their late 1990s-mid-2000s set totally looks like the mid-90s CBS Evening News set:

Still in South Korea (and still with MBC, for that matter), how MBC News Today looks like:

Nah, I don't like them. Too flashy, too glossy and too 3D-y. Too American and too outdated, just like other South Korean news intros. Even Americans are learning from Europeans about news graphics nowadays. VRT's new graphics are way better than this.

By the way, have anyone identified the library music used by Newsdesk from 2000? I heard same piece used on the intro of Channel 2 Israel's weekly Arabic news show.

I think VTM win the battle of the Belgium news revamps. Just not too keen on the new look for VRT - was very impressed by the former look but this all feels a bit fake and effects are done for the sake of it and they distract from the content rather than add to the programme.

Since were were discussing France 3, this is the intro sequence used by its predecessor, ORTF's Third Network, in 1973 and 1974:

The newscast was known as Info 3 because it was produced in conjunction with the France-Inter radio network (itself a part of ORTF at the time).

If the look seems somewhat familiar, it was created by the same designer who later moved to TF1 and came up with that network's psychedelic graphics.

This is what FR3's news looked like in 1977, two years after ORTF was broken up:

As a reminder, here are a couple of TVF posts from when VTM launched its revamped look last year:

Some of you may remember in Janaury 2011, Belgium's VTM relaunched 'Het Nieuws'
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh24/justjoshhh/hetnieuws111.png

But just over two years on, VTM today brought in a new look.

The change has been mainly because of a new editor, who wanted to rebrand and restructure the main bulletins at 13:00 and 19:00. VTM's news bulletins have decreased in ratings in the last few years, with their main competitor VRT's Het Journaal getting about double the audience.

So, a fresh approach with a more traditional appearance launched this evening. One of the main differences is the name - now VTM Nieuws instead of Het Nieuws (The News).

Here are a few caps from this evening - I'll look out for a YouTube clip too.

^Actually, the VTM revamp was last month (on the relaunch edition, the announcer said "Monday, February 18th" - speaking on the announcer, they're now going French-style by not saying the word "with" before the presenter name - i.e.: "7pm, VTM Nieuws , Stef Wauters.").
And I'm pretty confused about how their name is spelled: It was all-uppercase, then all-lowercase when the current logo was adopted, now it's all-uppercase again.

You're right! Time sure flies, doesn't it?

Outre-mer 1ère, the service of France Télévisions for France's overseas territories, has a new look.

Lenodal.com has a few videos of the new look as seen on the island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean:

For comparison, this is the previous look, as seen on the Caribbean island of Martinique (the clip begins with a promo), 2012:

Still sucks. We'll never get a good news intro unless some agency like Lambie-Nairn come over here or we have good in-house design team like Denmark's DR.

Last Monday (March 25th), Univision has changed the opening theme on Noticiero Univision to one based on the network's 6-note audio signature which was launched with their new logo:

But a couple of days later, they reverted to their previous theme, but with the addition of the 6-note Univision signature:
