Odd question I know but up until last Friday, what studio was the signer in for the BBC News Channel between 1245 and 1330?
As Steve said, signing is handled by Red Bee. The signing studio moved out of the Broadcast Centre a few months ago to somewhere else in West London (and is now HD capable)
Sounds like they are going to record some overnight and tomorrow they will be dismantling everything that exists in BBC Weather Centre, so I think it will be pre-recorded with the current and soon to be old graphics.
They're not quite gone yet - Sara Thornton is in
TVC this morning. They have been broadcasting some forecasts from BH already (Weatherview, for example), with the current set of graphics.
There's probably no great rush for them to dismantle the TVC Weather Centre - in fact, they may even want to keep it all warm just in case of major teething problems at BH.
I did notice yesterday that the carpet tiles with weather symbols which were just inside the Weather Centre's front door have been removed. At least someone had the decency to replace them with plain ones rather than leaving the bare floor.
We have been talking about the final national news on the National News thread, I forgot to ask... What will happen to Dateline London, and What studio will they use?
I'm sure they'll use Studio E, as it's produced by the News Channel.
Yep, its down to be
Studio E. Might be a bit cozy around that desk, though.
