Meanwhile, La Chaine Météo is alive and well in France (albeit with different owners than The Weather Channel). Here's a clip from 2010:

The headline bar on the France 3 video looks identical to those in CNNI's 2004 graphics.

Another peek at the new SBT set, which will debut next Monday (though the HD launch is not certain), from their own website: http://www.sbt.com.br/noticias/12039/Telejornais-do-SBT-ganham-novos-cenarios-a-partir-desta-segunda.html

Gosh that's... minimal. Almost dub-steppy in its use of space in its music and the graphics.

One thing that should be noted is that DR's news channel, DR Update, was closed down and replaced with children's channel DR Ultra, which led to a relaunch of DR2 as a news-heavy channel, as well as the addition of two short TV-Avisen bulletins to DR1.

Here's a video of how DR Update was like after midnight, with a live simulcast of DR P1's Radioavisen at the top of each hour, with rebroadcasts of bulletins aired earlier that night aside a newsfeed from DR.dk:

And, as it all looks like, DR1 (and TV-Avisen ) will only use the new DR logo when DR1 launches a new on-air look for itself.

First image of the much anticipated new look for Belgium's VRT 'Het Journaal'. The logo looks more like an evolution of the current look but the set looks very different from the snippet we can see.

The new look launches before the month is out, apparently.

The inimitable style of U.S. local news from the late '70s and early '80s -- can a news intro get any more dramatic than this? (at around 1:50 ):

And SBT has officially launched the new set for its newscasts, but they're yet to go HD.
Later tonight, Jornal do SBT will move to the new set, with a slightly different name, Jornal SBT .
And, tomorrow morning, it's the morning news that will come from its new home for the first time, also with a new (and much shorter) name: from Jornal do SBT - Manhă to SBT Manhă . (I hope there's video of both by tomorrow.)

For now, here are some videos of the debut of the new set, on SBT Brasil :

Opening:

Into the break:

Close (kinda reminiscent of Israel's Channel 10):

Now, here's my opinion: It's a great set, even revolutionary for Brazilian television standards (where the networks use mostly newsroom sets - though Band uses virtual sets for every bulletin but the main evening news), though most of the graphics were a big letdown, especially because of the imminent HD transition for the SBT newscasts.

And here's the new-look Jornal SBT (still referred to by the presenters as " Jornal do SBT "):

Also, how the new set looks on SBT Manhă (formerly Jornal do SBT - Manhă ):
