I found a clip comparing the old and the new versions of the intro:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4b_hXjckg4
BTW, I don't know if it's just this station, but the overall tone of the English-language news seems to be much more restrained than the very in-your-face style of the Tagalog-language newscasts I've seen.
SOLAR Network News, the only English-language newscast during Early primetime hours (airing at 06:00pm) in the Philippines. Their broadcast is in HD, but because the Philippines is still analog, the output is in 4:3.
This was their maiden broadcast in June, and they had recently made a full-program revamp. I'll try to post some screenshots soon.

Ah, from our local newser website, Media Newser...
Yes, News programs from SOLAR News Channel wants to counter the American-style/Tabloid-style reporting of the major news networks. Though unfortunately, majority of their programming still comes from the US, specifically from NBC News.

BTW, you may have noticed a very cool-looking news vehicle in that last clip above:

Yes, it's a FR3 news Citroen DS.
Its (O)RTF predecessor was so legendary that it's now available as a scale model:

The new opening sequence of the Slovenian public broadcaster's newsmagazine
Tednik
was certainly "inspired" by ITV's old look:

SRC (Radio-Canada), Le Téléjournal, 2003. Begins with a Bell Mobile ad, followed by SRC Réseau de l'information sting and Le TJ titles. Notice how the abbreviation differs from European French, where Le JT is used. This is honestly one of the best news packages in Canada, right after current Global and CBC packages.

Well, the programme is named different. In Canada it is called Téléjournal, the full name in European French is Journal Télévisé.
