Amazed they've got real guests in for the pilot rather than random members of the production team.

Why? its effectively the final dress rehearsal before opening night. Why would they not have real guests?

The most you can likely do with production staff is blocking, lighting... basically making sure everything works. Its not really a good way of timing a show that is reliant on interviews and debate. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they havent used real guests for ALL of their pilots.

I think they have used guests affiliated to political parties and obviously the panel of journalists throughout the pilot.

Again, like from TVC, the set is rather minimalistic but the graphics on the screens look great, and I think a great improvement is the lighting: the colours look far closer to the graphics of the titles and less washed out.

Great to see the programme back on, and of course in HD. Will have clips on YouTube soon!

This set looks so much better - the TC7 version really looked half-baked (understandable in a way seeing as it was outgoing) and as a result looked pretty terrible too, some of the regional studios even looked better!

Looks excellent now with a studio that properly fits the branding and good lighting too - well done BBC for creating such a flexible set.

Yes, Studio B is really shaping up to be a one size fits all sort of studio. Marr looks excellent, SP looks equally as comfortable. Just bring on Newsnight to top it off and I think they'll show the best of the studio with the desk area and the flexibility of the space there.

Straight from that great studio in HD to that awful news CSO. SP is using those new BBC News graphics as well by the way.

There was a lovely closing pan just then. Going from the seated area right back to the desk area of Studio B. It was really great and showed the immense space of the studio. Excellent flexibility in this new studio.

Where was Chris Rogers doing the news from - N10 at TV Centre rather than a CSO position in Studio B at BH?

I'm guessing that when the rest of BBC News moves over they will do the bulletin from within Studio B

In TVC. The SD quality of the line, especially the fuzzy outline of Chris on the CSO, really clashed from the amazing HD pictures coming from NBH. Hopefully when BBC World News moves in, they'll be able to use the presenter on the next shift on the programme. Probably unlikely though.

If I remember correctly, there's a newswall style setup on that side of the studio, and that is one of the three large screens that make up the newswall.

Did Andrew thank Chris at the end of the bulletin?

Thought they normally repeat SP on Parly channel, so normally no thanks to the newsreader?

So there are two news walls? One to the right of the desk, one to the left of the 'booth'?
