Can anyone remember the use of IN-Vision CA used by the station during the mid 1990s, yes you did read correct Mid 1990s.

Yes it was a camera in the voice booth, positioned above the announcer who never looked directly into the camera. There was a 4-circle logo in the top right corner. I'm fairly sure one of the pres sites has at least images of this.

Yep this was during the 'circles' era of idents. Some examples from Youtube:

Thank you both, were there ever seen in 1996? and did there get dropped by the end of 1997? Is there any details about why it was brought back and why CH4 believe it no longer worked and thus dropped?

Seemed like a gimmick to me, might have only happened on Friday nights. Not sure because that is probably the only time I watched C4 in the evenings back then.

I swear Paramount Comedy Channel did a similar sort of thing to this as well.

Didn't Paramount use Channel 4 style presentation in front of Channel 4 programmes at one point? I seem to remember them using the Channel 4 logo anyway.

Yikes. Don't like that at all. Too surprised (or is that shocked?) at what they look like that I don't listen to what they're saying at all.

When you think about it it's incredible just how long continuity announcers seem to last with the channels they work for, especially when you consider how short-term jobs in the industry tend to be. I think all of those announcers are still at Channel 4. BBC1 has got some that have been around for a while as well, does Sky1 still have that woman who'd been doing it for ages?

Paramount used to parody the C4 presentation with Phill Jupitus, I think at one point with him in the voice-over booth naked.

I remember there being a Channel 4 on Paramount strand around 1998-ish, basically to flag up that they had Father Ted and Drop The Dead Donkey.

There's an MHEG caption appearing on Channel 4 on Freeview advertising the new 4seven service linking to tvretune.co.uk.

Would love to see some of this Channel 4 on Paramount Comedy presentation. I'm guessing it's from around the same time they had "CBBC on Nick" - how the BBC were allowed to do that I don't know!!
