Well, having viewed the new HTV idents, I would say the only decent thing about them is Carlton's use of several different jingle variations. (The single 'itv' jingle must be tiresome in the extreme to hear by now.)

Merging the two animations (Carlton hearts / itv hearts) through the white heart just doesn't seem to work very well visually, unlike the use of the star in Carlton 'everywhere else' regions.

No, I think they should have gone with Carlton's entire idents with HTV* (the * being optional) at the end.

Are you sure about Tyne Tees, I'd only heard that HTV were having new idents today.
