looking at the examples shown, they seems to lack anyone over the age of 25 - why no old people doing ... old people things? seems theyre only inclusive in a hipocritical way really.
I think a nice one with an old man playing chess with bright red chessmen would be fantastic. Just a thought.
Does she really care what the public think, while she and Greg Dyke enjoy expensive lunches in their big penthouse offices!
She seems to forget she is in charge of BBC One, and that she left the realms of CBBC several years ago!!

Yes this is going to go down well! BBC Used to stand out as being a full 'Best of british' Channel but now it wants to incorporate the world ! They might as well get rid of BBC World and sent people BBC 1 Instead !

Well the BBC has incoporated the world with it's globe idents, so it's hardly new...
There's nothing wrong with the BBC having 'World' idents. What is wrong is having s**t idents.
from Digital Spy - and is it me or is the box out of the 4:3 guide?

if thats your view, the globe would of been pointless anywho...
All the idents have been filmed in the UK, so the same idea as they had for the balloon and globe is still in use, bringing the best programmes from round the world to the UK

these shots being added to press articles could be made specifically for the press, and are not the direct TV versions, that could explain the logo placement in differnet images.
Please someone from the BBC, could you give us all access to the press images of the BBC Idents

I do not want to see wheelchairs. OK, maybe I am being a bit nasty, but c'mon! This is BBC One, not your 'See Hear' type special needs programmes!!
Plus - the strip lights look awfully tacky and 80s in appearance. It looks to me like a 1989 episode of Grange Hill, where the schools disabled basket ball team play.
Plus the guy in the wheelchair is a right minger - couldn't the BBC have found good looking cripples?

Good grief, you get home from work to find nine pages to trawl through about some cacky new BBC1 idents! Well all right, the Cornwall one looks quite nice, but that's more to do with the setting than anything else. The others look like political correctness gone mad. Wheelchairs in idents? Whatever next?!!
Oh yes, and the BBC1 ident history on the BBC press release has been entirely lifted from the Meldrum Home Page (images, incorrect 1978 date and all!)
Whatever was wrong with a spinning globe...
