Why are the BBC NEWS Astons purple when there is no purple in their colour scheme - also because BBC NEWS is in widscreen the text should be centred with the title of the report appearing at the start of the reports then the strap of the reporter etc appearing a few seconds after this - what do u think....
I like it... but I like the current N24 ones better. The fading at the edges are similar to those used on the old N24 astons and I think they wanted to move away from that and go for a more 'clean cut' image. Personally, I like the fading of the main aston at the bottom but I'm not so keen on the 'live' and time ones. Also, I don't think theres a problem with them using a colour out of their colour scheme for the main aston, otherwise it may either look a bit too much red and beige, or sort of 'merge' with the studio set when shown in interviews and be hard to make out. Wouldn't the title of the story be better above the red aston? (just thinking of when they give information about a story or breaking news - it may be a bit confusing) Otherwise, I like it - well done!

Purple IS part of their colour scheme....
Its in all their graphix their straps National News didnt adopt them till later, as they transfered over to BBC News 24's Graphical Style.
Sorry just a technical glitch - regarding your comments which are fair - I thought fading on either side would be best because most of the BBC reports are still cropped 14:9 which means that there is black either side anyway - this would mean that you wouldn't see the graphics over the black if u know what I mean.... put BBC NEWS top left as couldn't find a BBC NEWS 24 logo anywhere and din't want to use the Logo font as it wouldn't work when typing BBC and then NEWS 24 - doesn't aline properly.......anyone one to add their own....??

Ok, thanks Lester. I've just done a modification of your design (I hope you don't mind) I've just changed a few things round - see what you think
