Three questions:

1. When BBC Four launches, will BBC Choice rebrand as BBC 3?

2. Will shows such as 60secs be on the new BBC 3 channel?

3. Why is the government refusing BBC 3 when it allowed BBC Choice, if they are going to be simular?

1 - No

2 - Yes

3 - Because they haven't got a clue

1. No I doubt it very much
2. Yes - in the proposals there is a 15 minutes news show
3. The government refused permission because they didn't think the original plans were different enough from what was already available. The government didn't have to approve BBC Choice - it's only recently that the government decided all new digital channels had to be approved. Also the new BBC3 will be quite different from BBC Choice.

i reakon the dcms will approve the plans this time round, as the government are hankering after the analogue switch-off - and the bbc's channels will be at the centre-piece of the free to view digital channel package.

1) No

2) Maybe, but probably in a diffrent duration/form

3) because it would have been seen as being a walkover if they just said yes to everything

Yeah yeah.... as mentioned BBC3 will have a 15 minute news programme, therefore it would be the 60 seconds programme in a diffrent form
