I've been paying the CBeebies game, now that's sad!

Nice to see that the DOGs aren't that big for each channel.
They're running test transmissions at the moment - a loop of highlights ....
sad that I'm up before 6am I know!

Well CBeebies is on air ... Ellie the lift, Beebie the rabbit ... and Chris Jarvis!
I can see me getting very annoyed with the Cbeebies singing on the idents!

Sorry guys but CBBC will crop until alll programmes are filmed in W/S - its official.

Why? What is the point in that? What sort of a pathetic excuse is that? Everything new is 16:9 anyway so what are they going on about? Can't they just switch to 4:3? Every other 16:9 channel is able too, and the BBC are supposedly best in the world. This excuse just shows how pathetic they are at trying to come up with an explanation for something they've done that's unpopular so they can carry on doing it!

Because they want to I guess.

Is breakfast in a smaller studio because of newsround, they handed to moria through a TV Screen, thats unuasual.

They want to do it, but we don't want them to do it and I'm extremly confident the programme makers don't want them to do it. Not only that. it's cropped to 14:9! Why? This is digital! There is no sucht hing as a 14:9 mode! You either chop over a quarter of the picture off if you are watching in 4:3 (and that's quite a chop) or if you are in 16:9 or letterbox you chop off around 14% and have black bars at the sides! Someone at the BBC owes up a decent explanation not 'Ohh we will crop till all stuff is 16:9'. My arse could dream up a better excuse.

Unfortunatly most of CBBC viewers don't really care or notice.

It'll be interesting to see if the live studio shots on CBBC are 16:9 ... the studio should be widescreen capable.

Well I don't know if it's just on NTL but the arc'ing is all over the place on Xchange ... at one point it looked like someone was turning it on and off for fun ... I now have a very badly cropped 4:3 - with the logo almost off the screen at the top left ... not good!

It's the same on sky, the logo looks in bad shape. the DOG is acting like what News 24's was doing lastnight.

Nice to see the new look Newsround ... I assume that's Lizzie Greenwood.
Also it appears they have Breakfast on the TV behind them on xchange ...
Had a quick look at BBC2 - the new studio 9 looks ok.

All this is taken from DTT:

CBBC looking ok so far.  Having a few problems with the phones on Xchange by the looks of it but otherwise not too bad at all.  When SClub7 did their new single though, was it just me, or did Paul look like he couldn't be bothered / hasn't learnt the moves??  Could this bode badly for the future of SClub7??  Only time will tell, but if they split, remember, you heard it here first!  Also, just noticed whilst typing, The Mummy has gone to 4:3 mode on my TV.  Looks like it's been zoomed (badly) and the DOG is on the VERY edge of the 4:3 safe zone.  Also, nice to see BBCi has been updated.  Interesting to note that when you flick to BBC Choice or Four in BBCi when the kids channels are on, a picture similar to the MHEG caption (same colour and font) appears where the video should be stating 'This channel is currently off-air.  See What's On for TV listings'.  Good also to see that BBCi works on those channels even when off-ar (though can't see why anyone would want to use it on them!).

Not looked at CBeebies yet, but had a quick flick over, and saw the woman who does Po in the Teletubbies.  Still, I'll look at that more tomorrow morning.

From DCab (ntl: exC&W area, CBBC on 67 and CBeebies on 6Cool:
Much the same really, except no MHEG caption on Choice or Four, just blank screens.  Of course, BBCi is taken care of by the interactive features so nothing to report there either.

ThePotato Apologises for excessive editing...he's very very tired this morning.
