Since it's just gone midnight and the deadline....
Did anyone enter the competition to think up an idea of what the auction arrow could do next? (i.e. to think up a new ident for the channel)
Here's my idea
1. The animation starts with a view of the piggy bank with the pig’s head looking straight ahead like an ornament with no life to it.
2. Then a coin drops down for above and into its slot shortly followed by another and then a rush of coins along with the bid-up arrow among them. (The sound of coins going dropping into a piggy bank would be played during this)
3. The arrow becomes lodged in the slot with the 2 base points of the arrow sticking out and one point in the slot
4. The pig comes to life and looks round smiling as the bid-up arrow jumps out and lands on the ground facing up
My reason for choosing this animation is because the idea of savings/money saved ties in with what bid-up.tv is all about – saving the viewer money, and having the arrow come down among the savings ties bid-up in with the theme of saving money.
I think the animation would work well as it keeps to the simplicity of the other animations since both the big and the coins are simple enough shapes and look good in black and white which would draw attention to the bid-up arrow.
