I know many have been captured and posted before, so can anyone post them again or link to the original post, in this thread for reference

Also, has anyone got a capture of the soon-to-disappear current endcaps used by the GMG companies, or could post a link to them.

How long have Meridian (Southampton) been using the purple endcap for the end of the news? Normally, there's a proper end title sequence - with a big Meridian logo in the style of the news. It just looks odd going from blue and red to purple.

Oh and great Central News programme! Couldn't agree more with what Bob said 'people don't like change' (when talking about ATV to Central). Maybe someone should tell Granada that...
Everything was great about that programme - apart from the endcap! Bring back Central TV now!!

Cheers, Asa

Yes, great programme! They started with the ATV ident, so why couldn't they have finished with a true Central endcap? Wink

I was disappointed with the generic credits... but it was a fantastic program!

Frazer Shepherd or whoever got rather loyal towards Central at one point, saying that while the 'Central brand has disappeared completely on-screen, Central News lives on ...'

There are the old and new Tyne Tees ones.

I don't mind the purple look, it looks quite well thought out (well thought out, that is, if you just want to have about 6 regions using the same thing and just plonk a logo down somewhere...).

The old Tyne Tees and YTV ones looked great, though, Granada really needed to update the one they'd been using for god knows how many years. I expect if we do see regional idents for regional programmes and ITV1 idents for networked programmes then the regional ones will follow this purple theme.

This is a generic Granada Media one:

Granada media makes it's own programmes seperate to Granada North. Most of GM programmes are sport. The GM endcap can be seen on the goal rush every sat afternoon on ITV1 or ITV2 or ITV Sport

id go as far to say it was the best show on tv all year.
and not a trace of a carlton star, i particularily liked the opening ceremony to the 1st show with the cheer leaders on the set ... give me a 'C'..'E'..'N'..'T'..'R'..'A'..'L'... 'Central News!' - it was more like a party, than news with guests at tables and drinking lol

and the first ever central news south was hilarious, the whole show just reminded me of how central use to be, although i dont think central is as bad as other regions, its not quite the same as it was.

i have to also mention, the excellant hour long newsweek special, with bob and llew... and yet bbc midlands could only manage 3x5min reports tut!

Emmerdale is still using the blue YTV Endcap.

'Nearly Soapstars' last night, used the old black LWT Endcap

And this morning's 'This Morning' used the old blue Granada Endcap (reduced and squashed to the left)
