Whoo! A regional Clock, What did your announcer say? and also did Helen Philpott do the headlines face-on in the cupboard?

After that clock, I'm not sure what my part of the region is supposed to be described as!

Yes both promos have been on in the east.

Tonights 10 Oclock News was a complete bodge up, we got the announcement with Peter Sissons & Ian White !!! Then after Sissons headlines there was a break in the thunderclaps and up popped Helen Philpott with our headlines, it wasn't very smooth.

So the Hull opt-out sounds like a bit of a damp squib, on the basis of what I'm reading. I can't believe it has no dedicated titles/graphics/stings or whatever, and that Claire is shoved in a CSO broom cupboard.

If South Today (Oxfordshire) and Look East (Cambridge) can make a bit of an effort, why can't Look North (Hull)?

I mean, Look East Cambridge has a proper set, with a proper plasma screen 'window', nothing is CSO or in any other way fake. In fact the Cambridge set looks just about as big as the Norwich one!

Is the Hull opt-out studio definately in Hull? I say that because the Oxfordshire opt-out studio for South Today (which is also a CSO broom cupboard) is not in Oxford - it's in Southampon, down the corridor from the main studio (but with a live view of Oxford in the 'window')!

So, could the Look North (Hull) studio actually be in Leeds (the live view of the Humber in the 'window' does nothing to guarantee that the programme is in Hull)?

To be honest i'm not totally sure!
That studio looks very similar to the one Peter Levy sits in during Breakfast!
Maybe its all a lie!

Here we are, I have to say Helen has a very scary mouth, she looks like the kind of woman who could probably eat a wagon wheel whole in one go.  She looked a bit startled at first.

By the way, whats happened to the 'North Midlands'

Balloon at 6.30 - North Midlands refered to in annoucement only
Clock at 10.00 - North Midlands totally ignored, Ian White said 'and in the North....'

Hopefully it will get sorted out, I'm sure the wrong annoucements/clocks etc are being shown!

And that 10 annoucer wasn't London or Danny Savage, It sounded a bit like 'Radio Leeds' Andrew Edwards',

And I've just remembered, The new 'Soft Set' wasn't revealed either tonight!
How long does it take to build and sort out!

The cupboard that Clare is in is in Hull - but that's about all that's there - AFAIK all the tapes etc are playing in from the gallery which is in Leeds.
Look East are lucky as Cambridge was set up by a good team and it had some money so is one of the better sub opts - and yes you could in theory do Look East from there.
Oxford is in the middle - done with CSO from Southampton ...
sounds like Hull really is done on the cheap - but it's better than no service at all. Gives Clare something to do with Christa safely in as queen-bee in Leeds.

Did you just hear Helen shouting that 'I've done the first one' instead of the audio from Peter Sissons and the trailer that followed it. I thought it was really funny!!!

They really are making a mess of things tonight! Still it was funny to hear her, and she didn't know she was 'on air.'
