I'm amazed at all the promos BBC North have made for the arrival of this Yorkshire TV defector.
I can't imagine this much effort being put into channel-hopping regional news presenters in or from the (West) Midlands!
A couple of months ago, Carlton Central (West)'s Suzanne Virdee jumped ship to Midlands Today, and nothing was said by either channel (although admittedly she wasn't a main anchor whilst at Carlton).
Also Midlands Today's Nina Nanar (a name which sounds like an ambulance arriving) jumped from Midlands Today to ITV News/ITN News Channel. Again neither BBC nor ITN/ITV said anything.
Well in Yorkshire land this is a very high profile defection, Christa must have been at Calendar for over 10 years. So, it's quite a change for Christa and the viewers.
Yes, Christa Ackroyd has been a fixture on YTV Calendar for at least 10 years.

Looking back, Calendar went through a very green / purple phase didn't they. Thankfully blues came into effect 1997 and now we have purple and beiges.

I hated Calendar News - the blue electric gutiar kind of music (1996 - 1992 or somehting like that). But it had my nana's husband's sister on. (Liz Dawn) I call her my aunt though.

The Christa Promo 2's caption has changed to just say 'Look North Weekdays 6.30'
Apprantly Christa and Peter both used to work together on 'Pennine Radio' from Bradford in the early 80s.
Gaynor Barnes was presenting alongside Geoff tonight on Calendar
Faye Barker did GMTV/10.35, Danny Savage did Breakfast
The banner title still has Harry, Ian, Paul, Clare and Peter on it though
Very amusingly go toBBC North - Television and hover over the picture of Christa and what does it say...!!
Plus you can follow Christa on the studio tour pages (which I think has been extended) to show how she presents Look North every evening (she hasn't done it yet!)
If you view all the tour pages and then click on 'home' at the end, it takes you back to the front page, but a old version of it, still with Clare!

why does the BBC Look North website have nothing about Penny Bustin - she's one of the best!!!!!1
Every other bus in Leeds and Bradford has an advert on the back which reads 'Christa and Harry Spend the Evening together' complete with a picture of the two.
In smaller print it then says 'Look North weekdays 6.30 on BBC ONE)
If this isn't enough...
A billboard near me has a giant version of the same advert on a massive poster - a 10 foot picture of Christa and Harry!
