Don't think this has already been mentioned....
iPlayer now has 'Live Restarts', enabling the rewinding of live streams. Pretty useful IMO

Love that feature - and like you say, very very useful. I hope they roll it out on their BBC iPlayer app on iPad soon. Thanks for letting us know!

As well as rewinding to the start of the programme, you can also rewind two hours behind, so for example I can rewind right now to 4:34pm.

Very clever and useful.

I have a feeling this will have come about after the live stream for the Olympic Relay where you could watch all of the morning or afternoon coverage by rewinding. Smile

At the moment, you can only rewind 90 seconds on the iPad/iPhone live streams

I notice the URL to this year's Radio 1's Big Weekend is http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/events/e9wmxj, by comparison the previous year's URL was http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend/2011/. I'm guessing this is part of a bigger change, coinciding with the new (beta) radio sites.

The former also integrates with the programme pages at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01d77xq . It does look like everything in the 'Radio & Music' product is moving to either /programmes or /music URLs - for example, even Radio 4 Extra presenter profiles now appear as a 'programme' - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00sqbw3 .

Meanwhile, for Doctor Who fans, I note that as I type, old episodes are in the process of being added into the Doctor Who Classic pages at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00855q6 . Perhaps this might ultimately be built up to replace the existing useful, but rather dated, site at http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/ .

Just to say the Live Restart on iPlayer is brilliant, a real useful feature when missing the start or the whole episode.Smile

BBC homepage appears to have minor tablet (iPad in my case) optimisation now as you can use a gesture to revolve the carousel. Unfortunately it has sort of broken it as now when you try and select a link it slides on to the next page even though I make no sideway movement.

I believe this is as it's built on the new platform for live event websites. Previously they've all looked the same, sure, but Big Weekend is the one pushing the new software called "Eavis".

They seem to have updated the BBC Sport media player to use the HTTP up to HD streaming technology they were trialling at Wimbeldon last year. They've also updated the Live pages so they remove the media player when the stream had finished, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work that well, and kept removing the player randomly throughout the F1 and F1 Forum coverage for me today (in both IE and Chrome).
