A clip of which can be seen here, the only clip I can find on the internet from that era:

Just in case anyone is interested, Points of View returned today. The theme tune has been changed again, they've gone back to the theme they've used since they went HD and only changed it slightly in comparison to the theme they used last series.

Just watched it. The man in there who complains about the sound of the presenters being drowned out by the sound of the general ambience, like audience and such, could the reason be that he's listening to a 5.1 surround sound broadcast on a Stereo system? I imagine the presenters and such are on the centre speaker only, whereas the general ambience is on the main left and right speakers and on the surround speakers. So unless you've got a calibrated surround sound system, the dialogue is always going to sound drowned out? A lot of people complained about shows like Doctor Who having the same problem. I've often thought this might be the reason. Anyone in the know able to comment?

A decent TV should be able to combine the channels properly, but presumably some won't. It's a good theory.

A brave week for the BBC to criticise viewers, but it's about time some of those who write to Points of View are openly mocked: http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b01nwrcr/?t=11m00s.
