Todays Sunday Politics.

Does Millbank have access to the standard Bbc News 'backdrop' as John Redwood Mp was astoned as being in Central London, but it was the same backdrop that the newsreader sits in front of & they are in TC7 with Brillo?

Is there a reason Brillo doesn't say thank you to the newsreader after the bulletin?

Is the section after the news bulletin repeated later in the day?

Millbank almost certainly have access to that background - it was used in the main Millbank studio for the Theresa May interview the other day. I've seen it used on regional DTLs before now, from Leeds for example, so if the regions have it I'm sure Millbank will.

The Sunday Politics is repeated on BBC Parliament so presumably they will need to cut the news bulletin out for that showing.

I know it's kind of historic but don't really get why they continue with the news bulletin within the programme - surely if they're intending to repeat the show it makes more sense to have it before or after the show.

Then again it would also make more sense for them to give the 1pm/6pm/10pm bulletins a proper close again so they have a neat finish on the News Channel, but nobody at the BBC seems to care about that.

Or someone sees a higher priority beng keeping viewers for the regional news programmes that follow.

It doesn't stop ITV having proper closes though does it?

I agree and think it would be better - but the problem is that on the One/Ten there is another presenter in the studio and doing a close without making it obvious that the other presenter is there is quite difficult.

Generally speaking the regional news has better ratings anyway. We're not saying five minutes of credits - just a short 10-15 sting to close the show which will both improve the cross over to the regions and help out on the news channel.

I know and no one watches ITV regional news because its run for peanuts out of shoeboxes.

BBC 6.30 opt meanwhile often gets more viewers than the national bulletin.

Are all the Sunday regional politics programmes live today? (I'm watching back on Sky Plus!)

West Midlands appears to be, as they've mentioned one of the Sunday papers?

(Plus Pat Burns & co need their kip too!)

The trick photography going a bit wrong today with too many people around the desk, when the overhead camera was used, one of the guests heads disappeared into the black screen surroundings!
