Why?
ITV relegate Europa League coverage to ITV4 when they're covering Stoke, Birmingham, Fulham and the rest (even Liverpool when they were in it) -- yet somehow Man Utd (and, in two weeks I expect Man City) merits pre-empting primetime scheduling on ITV1? Yeuch. No doubt Chiles and co will be falling over each other to big up the European secondary competition as a legitimate target for the two Manchester clubs, even when it's quite clearly a massive step down from the Champions League.
How pathetic.

But the simple fact is it's all about sponsorship and ratings, and there clearly isn't enough of those to warrant airing Birmingham City or Liverpool games on ITV 1 in place of Corrie. I always said if the likes of United got into this competition it would be shown on ITV 1, it should be no surprise.
I think Chiles would have started doing ITV 4 matches anyway, given they need something for him to do.
I can't see how you can slam ITV making the decisions that they believe are in their commercial interest.
How pathetic.

ITV have never relegated the Europa League - it's always been essentially an ITV4 product, with games promoted to ITV1 if they feel there is a bigger audience for them. This is by no means the first season they've done that.

Not sure how you work that out? Some Liverpool Europa League games were on ITV1 last season.

I remember about 10 years ago, the BBC had the rights to Liverpool home games in the UEFA Cup and they only showed Liverpool home games, despite other teams being involved, this was due to the way rights were sold out the time with clubs selling the rights to their home games.
But the BBC would have had more of a responbility in the eyes of the public to show more sides. What are your views on Championship being shown on BBC Two, would you expect the Premier League to also be shown on the same channel and not be on BBC One, if they had the rights.

Iteresting to note the problems the BBC had today with the black and yellow bars that come over before and after a replay. During the France v Italy game, the replay ended and went back to live action, then the bars came over. For the Scotland v England game, the replays were faded in and out without the replays. Possibly the same issue was going to happen in Edinburgh as it did in paris, and the BBC played safe?

What's the host broadcaster situation with the Six Nations these days? Do the BBC still do all the ones in Great Britain with the Irish, Italian and French broadcasters doing their own?
Perhaps that's something to do with the replay transition problems (although I'm sure you are correct). I certainly noticed the sound problems during the England/Scotland match, with the commentary audio going down once and the studio sound being lost after Jill Douglas' interview.

I notice the french broadcasters graphics went out for a while during the second half.
