I haven't really watched much Football on 5 in the last couple of years, although I did catch some last night and have to say in Jim Rosenthal and Stan Collymore they do have probably the best pairing around on terrestrial at the moment
Don't know if its being mentioned but SPOTY is back tonight taking place in their Manchester studios. It is going to be vastly different to last years production. Looks to only be 750 seats in the studio compared to 10,000 last year. Set looks quite slick though. Heres some behind the scenes coverage:

PS: I dislike how it's now called Sports Personality of the Year whereas before it was Sport Review Of The Year and the personality bit only took up the last 20 minutes or so.

Yes, SROTY has been somewhat written out of the history books. I suppose it's understandable in a way as back then they did actually have some sport to review, it's still basically a review of the year though

Good ! I don't think large venues lend themselves to making very good television.
SCD's Wembley Arena show was awful, lousy acoustics, over large stage, and a complete loss of the intimacy that the studio normally gives the production.
It seems very much a backwards step this year - the stage seems tiny.
I totally disagree. The set is lovely, there is a massive audience in terms of television studio audience and the set doesn't really need to be much bigger.
Give it a couple of years a folk will forget that they ever held it in big arenas. If only Eurovision could go to using venues of a similar size.
