This channel is really worth a look at, lots of CaptainSiCo's clips are from ITV/C4/S4C Schools broadcats mainly from the 1980s, with a lot of clips being those that did belong to the late Simon Luxton which don't appear to have been on TV Ark at all.

Im sure the clips for TV ark etc are still in the process of being updated and restored on the site.

Thanks for the promotion - that's my channel!

Most of the stuff credited to Simon Luxton he personally sent me - it's not my intention to duplicate anything that has been on TV-Ark or the former schoolstv - but the odd one clip may slip through. I'm in touch with James Hudson, and in fact he doesn't have some of Simon's material, so I'll be sending this to him and, as stated, the schools section will be overhauled and updated in due course.

Nice clip from Jim'll Fix It looking behind the scenes at BBC1's continuity suite.

Just going o/t for a minute, one of my clips (BBC2 Continuity 9th August 1995) has been blocked by Base79 and my clip is now not available in the UK/US. Two Things (A). Who are they? and (B). Why have they blocked it? Is it blocked because of HIGNFY?

A brief snippet from a Google result page would suggest they 'create new profits for leading rights holders'.

Which translates as "we troll YT looking for vaguely defined rights on videos with grey area copyright content and stick our flag to it so we can get a payout even if we don't own many if any IP rights to the things we say are ours."

This is a brilliant YouTube channel from Chartlon Creative: http://www.youtube.com/user/charltoncreative

It contains high quality widescreen copies of older trailers such as a Hitchcock season trailer from 1997-2001 era BBC Two, the old 888 Subtitles trailer, BBC Two Xmas Fairy trails, and a full 37 second length, clean, high quality copy of the BBC One Blue Planet ident:

At least I can now say with proff, I did say there did not use the same theme since the beginning! Confused

Forgive me if this has already been brought up at some point, but here's an extremely interesting video about how the BBC News virtual studio was created in the 1990s:

Looking at it, I'm not sure. The studio has been discussed before with some small revelations but I don't think this one's passed by here before though my weak recollection tells me it might have been mentioned so nice of it to pop up.

Makes you a little more thankful for the Barcos and now I can see the chromakey seam next to the newsreader I can't unsee it, curses.

I wonder if that's due to the copyright brigade? Shame really, that was worth a watch but the bed they used through out got annoying.
