Soccer Saturday's new home - what Jeff called the "Vic Wakling Studio", after the old Sky Sports MD.

and it does appear to be a full rehearsal - Roger Johnson's presenting from the MOTD studio. I don't really know enough about the Salford setup to know why they're not in the Final Score set we've seen pics of. This test is probably primarily to make sure that all the graphics systems are working, and they can get all the lines in from the matches - along with the added complication that they're vying with TC5 for interviews with commentators!

Has that set ever been confirmed as for Final Score. Perhaps it's for BBC Sport in general and all football stuff is in the Focus/MOTD studio.

I must say too as overdue as BBC Sport may be for a new studio they are losing a very effective studio now - the new Football Focus studio is already beginning to look a bit dated IMO.

The studio pictured is to be the BBC News Channel Sports News Studio. It is planned to be on air from around February next year. This studio would be in use for the news channel when Final Score is on air.

If the BBC News Channel sport is moving north presumably this means BBC World is as well - or have they already? Anyone know what studio facilities they will use? Also how does this affect the BBC One weekend bulletins that have a sports presenters input, will the network bulletin cross to the news channel studio in Salford as well?

I think they'll have someone come down to London each weekend to do the sport in the bulletins - it's a bit disjointed not to do that. Rachael Hodges travels from Salford most Saturdays to do overnights, and Susanna Reid flies over to Belfast every week for about 4 months every year for SML so I expect someone travelling to London each weekend won't be too much of a push!

The new Soccer Saturday set isn't all that different from the Sky Sports News studio, is it?. The desk is very similar, although the backdrop is brighter. I noticed that during the 3:00pm-5:00pm period yesterday they CSO-ed in images of spectators at the games being covered behind the studio pundits, which I found a bit weird.

Elsewhere, the FA Cup now appears to have official titles and graphics for international broadcasts - they are being used on Setanta and are quite similar to the official Premier League graphics (even down to the triangular logo) but with the Barclays logo in the score bar replaced by an image of the FA Cup. I wonder does this mean we've seen the last of the Setanta opening titles for the FA Cup - maybe they will return in later rounds when the Premier League teams enter, and Setanta would normally have studio presentation for those rounds.

I don't know if it came across in SD, but on the HD channel it was very obviously an LED screen, similar to the Sky newswall, and looked quite pixellated.

Did he present the Rugby World Cup for anyone - he said during the coverage yesterday he was out in Auckland for the finals.
