Why the delayed coverage. No Daily Politics so why can't it be live?
with the World Swimming Champs actually getting a couple of hours of coverage a day on BBC2, although delayed.

Indeed - the finals are live on the Red Button between 11am and 1pm, with delayed coverage on BBC Two immediately afterwards from 1pm. BBC Two are only showing old films in the 11.35am, so I really can't see a reason why CBeebies couldn't be cut short and the finals shown live from 11am. Unless it's a rights issue with Eurosport also showing live coverage.
Oh, and there's a brand spanking new BBC Sport ident, complete with the 'Olympic Broadcaster' tag, which has just appeared at the start of the Diving highlights programme (available on iPlayer later this afternoon).
Interesting that on http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2011/wk30/sun.shtml#sun_olympic, the swimming coverage next week is billed as 'Olympic Countdown - World Swimming Championships'. So perhaps this is the ident that will introduce coverage of Olympic sports between now and London 2012.

They've been using a BBC Sport Olympic Broadcaster animation for a while now - or is this a new one?

Live boxing makes a return to terrestrial television tonight - Channel 5 have picked up the rights to the British & Commonwealth Heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora at Wembley Arena, which will be shown live from 10pm.
It seems that it'll only be the main fight which will be shown live, and not the undercard, which is causing a bit of annoyance on various forums. However, when you look back to the 80s and 90s when ITV had Saturday night boxing, it was generally only the main fight that was shown live, with highlights of the undercard if time permitted.
Not clear if this is the start of a long-term deal with Channel 5 or whether they're just testing the water.
Also, no information on presenters/commentators. But you'd have to say Jim Rosenthal would be a good bet to be involved . . .
EDIT: also meant to say . . . just to further rubbish the BBC's claim that 'they don't show sport on BBC One or BBC Two at the same time':-
Saturday 6th August:
BBC One
12.15pm Football Focus
1.00pm British Olympic Dreams
1.30pm Live Athletics - London Grand Prix
4.30pm - 5.10pm Final Score
BBC Two
2.00pm Live Rugby Union - Scotland v Ireland
4.15pm - 6.30pm Live Rugby League - Challenge Cup SF
Sunday 7th August:
BBC One
12.45pm - 3.05pm Match of the Day Live - West Ham v Cardiff City
BBC Two
11.30am Rugby Union - England v Wales H/lights
12.30pm Live Triathlon - World C'ship Series
3.15pm - 5.45pm Live Rugby League - Challenge Cup SF
Yes, that's right, definitely only show sport on one terrestrial channel at a time.

Star Cricket have their own feeds of the England v India Test match looks like they are actually here, and their coverage in HD is going out on 10e in Biss
I wonder if Sky are producing it, if they are its better then the Sky coverage!
The studio sound sounds dodgy though.

And wasn't there an occasion a couple of weeks ago when BBC1 showed Formula one, and BBC2 showed golf?
