I didn't notice it at first, but the last frame of the concept actually creates a blocky map of the UK

They all do, but if you look only some parts are highlighted.

It's nice to see Channel 4 trying to do something a bit different with the weather, but this isn't right. It's not clear at all - symbols are much clearer than text.

Daily Mail article on BBC Weather presenters. Ouch!

And he writes this after the Beeb axe all its interesting (or 'self indulgent') forecasters for stale, boring presenters who focus solely on the weather? He may have had a point six months ago, but not now. And I for one preferred how it was back then.

I'd love to know the relevance of this to his job at the Met Office..

What a massive pile of BS - it seems it's time for us all to become beyond politically correct, by having robotic weather forecasters who dare never say 'unfortunately there's lots of rain' in case they insult a farmer who needs it to rain.

I almost punched my screen when I read that article - nice to see he was so "angry" he decided to give a rundown of Chris Fawkes' personal interests. Who cares? Quentin from the Mail - grow up! The BBC's the only organisation who really bother about the weather - has he even glanced at the "talent" over at ITV. And if you're reading this Quentin, why not go back a few pages, Channel 4's weather content seems to be right up your street!

Quite... even though he doesn't work for the Met Office anymore! He parted company with the MO at the end of March, so Quentin's bluster of " now we have the likes of Tomasz Schafernaker" is even more astray. The Daily Wail always had it in for Tomasz, always mentioning that he was "Polish-born" and "posed for gay-magazine Attitude". Ye gods!

As for the rest, the DM doesn't like levity in life, so weather presenters who exhibit a little bit of joviality are work of the Devil Wink

I find the recent the articles on weather presenter (esp in the Daily Mail) amusing...and some of the people that were interviewed as well.

A rare appearance of Jon Mitchell presenting Border, Tyne Tees and Yorkshire forecasts today.

Strange how West and Westcountry have around 6 presenters whilst the above utilise their 5. Is it the norm across ITV regions to utilise?

Elizabeth Austen was presenting the BBC West Midlands bulletins yesterday.

(She was also doing the local radio forecasts too, certainly the BBC WM Saturday Brekky ones, presenter who shall remain nameless!)

Elizabeth Saary on BBC World just now. Haven't seen her on World for literally eons. Does she do the weather back in the UK?

ITV West/Westcountry have 2 main presenters tho - Alex and Bob. The other 3 are freelance and used just on weekend usually.
