BBC Two (and I assume BBC HD) have given the F1 until 22:20. I guess Family Guy will be dropped from HD.

BBC HD will drop Francesco's Mediterranean Voyage if anything as it's a repeat that was put in place of Mock the Week which was mysteriously SD only at the last minute. The two episodes of Family Guy are new.

Family Guy dropped, A Little Later dropped in ( what else?! ), Francesco on time. So, HD and Three are out-of-sync now.

Well that makes little sense.

The BBC One HD DOG has been stuck on the right since F1 finished (or since it started, in fact).

,,, and peculiarly, series linked Coast on the iPlayer has delivered the as yet unbroadcast second episode in HD of the series to my PC.

Has there been any word as to when Coast will be on? It gets a repeat on Friday night so that could have the knock on effect of needing a replacement too

Friday may be its only showing.

Off topic but as the Coast repeats will be dropped pn Fridays for Wimbledon they could bump it along a week and show it next Sunday, but premiere episode 2 & 3 in the Friday repeat slot first.

I don't understand why they move it - it doesn't obscure anything in its usual position.

Unless it's because they want it visible when the likes of Sky News use clips.

Or it's just standard practice on BBC Sport programmes as score bars are usually on the left?

Score bars are usually within the 4:3 safe area.

And Family Guy dropped from HD, which I'm fairly annoyed at. Just got in so didn't get a chance to change the recording to BBC Three.

Could be that (for rights reasons) the HD showing has to be simulcast with the main BBC channel showing it. That was certainly the case for Heroes and Mad Men.

True but it would still looks a bit odd, wouldn't it?

Can anyone confirm they move it to the right for sport?

The nightmare scenario stuff of ye olde presentation job interviews!! I remember questions like this were standard for even junior jobs within presentation just to prove you had the right thought processes. So you're about to run a 2 hour feature film premiere on BBC One, Scotland aren't taking it, but you do have a message that the Pope isn't well and news might want to go on air with a news report. What do you do? Erm....

Use of some sort of talkback between News, London Pres & Glasgow Pres, plus Belfast & Cardiff Pres(as they'll be doing their own continuity!) & all agree a time to cross over to News presumbly.(speaking as a 'total layman' in these matters!)

Is Scotland already in their programme or not? What's the duration? Could a separate news report be fed to Scotland a few minutes later?

(That's actually a good idea for a thread. Throw up some broadcasting/presentation scenarios & ask 'How would you do this?')

Don't usually post unreliable stuff, but a report I read yesterday inferred that ESPN UK is losing just over £3M a month based on it's first year figures. This was a one liner in an article somewhat critical of it's programming, So whether accurate or not is debatable.
