They seem to have changed the set in BH, either the screen where the weather is done has been moved back or they've covered up the part of the back Barco wall next to it.

Don't think BBC London have got a Barco wall - just a couple of regular projectors (like the BBC One News set had prior to the Barcos)

They have one projector from where the weather is done, the rest of the set uses plasma screens.

Kate finished on Monday and is now on maternity. Yesterday the Breakfast weather was a pre-record by Sara Thornton and today Wendy was on as normal so that's this week taken care of. Now to see what happens next week and whether they use the national forecaster or South East Today people to cover Kate's absence,or whether Wendy gets her shift changed! Twice now (most recently last Sunday) the Sunday forecast has been recorded by Kaddy Lee-Preston so I'm guessing Wendy should be on this coming Sunday, then we'll see what happens after that.

Isn't she awful??! She deafens me, it's nice to have a bit of charisma but Kaddy-Lee Preston is way over the top! I'd rather have Jeremy Paxman do it. Wink

When did they move back to broadcasting house?

When did they move back to broadcasting house?

They were previously in the building on Marylebone High Street, the lease on which wasn't renewed by the BBC, I think.

I think he meant since they moved to Millbank for a couple of weeks?

Yeah, when they had the different news studio for those few weeks.

Sara did her first breakfast shift from BH today and is covering Kate's shifts for the rest of the month.

I've noticed the BBC London studio has been altered, the backdrop now stretches all the way to the video wall. Courtesy to 'pirate' of TSCelebs (a good place to look at studio caps and keep up Laughing)

They also use this for a standing position now, as can be seen in the cap below, courtesy again to the above.

And here's what it used to look like before for anyone who wants to see the difference, courtesy of TV Live:

A couple of extra shots of the new feature wall:

Unlike the other segments of the backdrop, I don't think the new addition is a display screen; I think it's just a lightbox with a static image, similar to those used in N9. When it's been in vision, I've not seen any movement of any kind on it - not a computer screen, not a flashing light, not a hint of anything dynamic, which is especially strange as there is at least one person clearly visible on it who seems to sit at their desk completely motionless (on the other screens, the N6 and TC7 Barcos, and in other studios, they've avoided rendering people too clearly in the backdrops).

The colouration of the new panel compared with the pre-existing background displays is also quite different; this is most evident in the difference between the reds on the new panel and the pre-existing ones.

Also interesting to note the absence of lighting strips above and below the 'window' area on the new wall, whereas they continue to be present on the unmodified ones.

They've used that as a standing position on many occasions; I remember seeing Riz presenting and even opening the programme from there, and I recall seeing it used around the time of the Millbank and Parliament Square protests.
