Former Five weather presenter Lara Lewington presented this morning and lunchtime forecasts on SET today.

Apparently she's been lined up to cover a few shifts throughout the summer at Tunbridge Wells.

I'm probably in a minority, as I prefer watching Fish over Lewington.

What Meridian would do without Amanda Piper is beyond me. Working five days a week early mornings, and then usually presenting a weather forecast on Saturday. Last week she has been doing the late bulletin and Meridian Tonight. She must be very valued at ITV Meridian.

Are they all forecasts rather than news bulletin presenting?

If it's anything like Yorkshire, then the GMTV forecasts are recorded the evening before as I understand. And the late one will be recorded post (if not pre) 6pm Calendar

The weather forecast isnt pre-recorded she works and records the forecast on Saturday and presents the GMTV bulletins 5 days a week.

Well its sad how its got to a state where presenters arnt expected to work more than 4 days a week. Many people work 5 days and is expected to do extra weekend work on a regular basis, and her's is not exactly the hardest of jobs and longest of jobs is it?

I don't think news presenters these days do "overtime" or do "5 day weeks".

My misunderstanding - thought you meant she does weather forecasts all the time.
To me sounds like pretty much standard work for most people and I am sure she is glad she has a job at these times.

I guess so, people who got axe would probably love to do Amanda's job.

Where's Kaye Forster vanished to? Somebody posted on SET's Facebook page asking if Lara was replacing Kaye, they replied that she was just covering whilst people were on holiday, but Kaye seems to have been missing for over a month now.

Yes, but there are plenty of jobs that require a very early start, and is still expected to do five days. I know someone who works on the roads, they start at six every morning and finish at 6 in the evening, and do Saturday mornings. Oh, and they don't sit infront of a TV camera reading a script. So, I think that puts their job into perspective don't you?
