Peculiar presentation from ESPN, it's edited US coverage, no introduction and no real sequencing and post production. As for graphics safe areas, forget it.
The Open play was suspended for an hour and a bit, due to high winds, so will go on into the late evening. BBC TWO, RB and HD are due at the RAH for the First Night of the Proms.

Online Golf only then at least on Freeview.
This is where a highlights programme would come in handy . . . to catch up with any live play that was missed.
Two points to note from elsewhere . . . firstly the BBC have won the rights to screen the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on 3rd October on BBC Two, online and iPlayer. Doesn't specify whether its just the Sunday, or the Saturday as well. In previous years both days of the meeting were shown.

There does seem to be some ridiculous rule where those events on the B-list generally have to offer highlights to pay-TV channels, with the BBC having to get special permission if they want to show them exclusively.
Now, having FTA highlights of such events shown live on pay-TV makes sense and is clearly in the public interest - but I don't see the logic in the reverse. I think anyone watching The Open would rather see the highlights on the BBC than on ESPN, even if they already subscribe.
Interesting announcement on BBC Two Northern Ireland just now. Due to a crash, the MotoGP is overrunning on network BBC Two and is now listed on the EPG to run until 14:30 (Flog It has been dropped on network) but BBC Two Northern Ireland needed to show the live Championship Final at 13:50 so they cut away from the MotoGP early. The CA mentioned that to continue watching the MotoGP you could press red (on some platforms), watch online or watch on BBC Two England. Do nations often refer viewers to other nations?
Not sure if I've heard of that happening before, but I did spot that network didn't quite edit their 'next' caption correctly, and were trailing a programme called "EastEnders It!"
S'pose this is what you pay for no long term contract ....
Top Up TV's prices for Sky Sports
The battle for premium sports viewers warmed up again on Wednesday when Top Up TV, the only pay-TV service on the Freeview platform, announced it would be offering Sky Sports 1 and 2 to subscribers from August 2.
The company said its offer would start at £22.99 a month for one of the channels and £31.99 for both, with a full package of the two Sky channels and ESPN – which would provide all Premier League live matches – for £39.99
Decision on Free-to-Air Listed Events deferred until 2013
The decision to review the Free to Air list of sports events has been deferred until the end of the Digital Switchover process in 2012, Minister for Sport and the Olympics Hugh Robertson announced today.
That give BSkyB and the ECB plenty of time to lock in an exclusive Ashes contract for 2019 and beyond, which would probably then be protected as the review (as it was) wasn't going to affect existing contracts. I'd bet it'll be 2027 at the earliest then before the Ashes return live to FTA television.
ITV are getting back into Snooker, after the announcement by Barry Hearn of a new style tournament. Power Snooker features games of only 30 minutes duration where points count over frames.
It's being described as Twenty20 for Snooker. The 8 hour tournament from the O2 Arena will be screened by ITV4 on October 30th.
