Big improvement on last year, I prefer the X Factor studio set up though.

I agree,I did like the old one. But this one is great too. TBH as you say, I don't think you can beat X Factor's set though! Laughing

X Factor set up seems a lot bigger, this seems quite compact.

Who is the director? Too many cuts and missing the main action!

I didn't realise this was going to be in HD, just saw a performance - it looks great.
Looking forward to seeing The X Factor in HD later this year (finally).

A strong first semi-final with 3 or 4 acts who on paper could easily be finalists. I think though Josh blew it tonight - though fair play for not playing safe. Spelbound and Tobias to go through, but think the Regugitator may get the vote from the judges for being something different should he be in the top three.

Anyone watching Watch a few minutes ago will have seen Stevie Starr as number 38 on the 50 best magic tricks show...

Did anyone else notice him shove the mobile phone in just before he produced it from his mouth? Don't think that did him any favours.

Also - Tobias's act probably faired better in SD than HD - the strings on his silver sphere were pretty clear in HD.

Something I wasn't aware of was how much Stevie's gotten around. There are countless videos on Youtube of him on David Letterman, Jay Leno and Maury to name but three. At least he hasn't lost much in terms of work after losing BGT.

The clip of him in the magic tricks programme (presented by Adam and Joe?) was from a Jonathan Ross chat show wasn't it? Looking at the Letterman clip on YouTube that's from 1988, I expect the Ross appearance would be from around the same time!

The show got ruined by the credits, they should have shown the ones that come up at the bottom, like in corrie.

I think as long as they say that their professional's it's ok.

Also some ratings for last nights BGT:

ITV1 (inc ITV HD)
19:00 - Coronation Street: 7.8m (38.0%)
* 0.3m watched on ITV1 HD
19:30 - Britain's Got Talent: 10.7m (43.1%)
* 0.6m watched on ITV1 HD, a new HD record

21:00 - Coronation Street: 10.2m (40.3%)
* 0.5m watched on ITV1 HD
21:30 - Britain's Got Talent - The Results: 10.3m (40.3%)
* 0.6m watched on ITV1 HD

22:00 - ITV News at Ten & Weather: 4.1m (18.5%)

and just for comparrison:

slightly down on last years, but as expected because of no Subo hype. Impressive HD figures though!

Also to help ITV News, this should be the week where they pull out all the stops!
