Am I right in thinking that Annita McVeigh called Sian Sophie? If she did, that's a pretty inexcusable slip-up. If she didn't I'll eat my words and take it back.

Inexusable? That's slightly harsh. Its easily done, I'm sure, doing a live link, I'm sure she had more important things to remember than the name of the presenter and as both names begin with S its even easier to get a little muddled.

I don't know about you eating your words - what about Annitas words?

I mean Where's her ' Belfaarst arkcent garn' ?

I think she's had a few lessons in RP courtesy of the beeb Smile

Ok I agree 'inexcusable' was probably a bit harsh but it just sounded a bit unprofessional. Easily done I'm sure and I'm sure she would have been embarrassed when she realised.

And re: the 'arkcent', she does sound quite different from before - I wonder whether she felt inferior the way she spoke. Note the contrast now between her and Maxine Mawhinney - and they're both from the same place

Lol sorry. The one I got of John Sopel looks like he's getting a surprise buggering.

She did, lol Razz

And I think - although I wasn't listening that closely - Margaret Gilmore called her Sophie tonight. Poor old Sian.

Sian is covering for Natasha on the Br'kfst show. She did this a few weeks back so it isn't a first. I assume this time its for the week.

Just read in the 'Quick Facts' bit of the website 'BBC News Centre' that Fiona Bruce is the highest paid BBC Newsreader. Can this be true. Or does this take into account other programmes she does such as CrimewatchUK etc.
