Yup, identical to the BBC's upload in HD on their YouTube for the last couple of weeks. Except they didn't allow a full showing of it, which I thought for its first outing they'd have allowed.
I thought the Network Director had control over the ident music level with the CA onlly having control of their mic?
No. When there is a live announcer, they have control of the sound level on the ident (both Red Bee and the nations). When the Red Bee announcer is pre-recorded and being played off an audio server the director (or rather the automation) controls the levels.
It may be a different set-up at ITV, C4, five, etc. At UTV, for oov links, the announcer has no control over mic or ident levels, or even a set of cans to pop on their ears.
When you see it on TV you can really see the detail. At the BBC One appears you can see snow blowing across the screen from right to left. It really is a stunning ident.

I sure BBC scotland does have control
That's what he was saying; when it's live it's controlled by the CA. The nations are always live anyway as they are in control of visuals as well.

As I said... the live announcers at Red Bee, and in the nations (including BBC Scotland) have control of the sound levels on idents.
Just for added info; at Red Bee the announcers don't have control of the sound levels of end credits... however in the nations they do (as it's a more technical job in the nations).
I was hoping there'd be a second, non-Doctor Who ident but it appears there isn't going to be one, so I've deleted BBC One from my DTTEPG and detuned it from analogue. I may or may not bother to retune in January.
I really can't stand the glorified Dr Who promo, I'm sorry. Yes they've spent a lot of money on it and as other posters have said, it looks beautiful - well so does the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but you wouldn't have that as a BBC One ident just because 'it looks beautiful'. As a CHRISTMAS ident this abysmal effort (like the three before it) just fails.
