Too many connections. Wait until 20:48:48.

I haven't visited TV Ark for several hours and I still cannot view the single video I would like to view. I cannot now watch any video. There are no excuses for this as there are hundreds of websites with the same media player that TV Ark now uses, it is not new technology. Those websites implement the player and I have never had the problem I get with TV Ark. It is beyond a joke.

TV Whirl uses the same sort of system and this never happens when I visit that website and they allow you to optionally download a MP4 of the video I am viewing.

TV Lark are beyond a joke.

That's exactly the problem I am having - I have been trying to view the one video since Saturday -all I get whether I leave 10 mins, 2 hours or 8 hours is one of the above messages.

Error: Too many requests too soon. Please hit 'Back' button and try again - this is after waiting 2 hours - does that make 2 hours too soon? I've never known anything like it - if this is still a trial period then hiccups are expected - but this needs attention - what's the bandwidth? 1 connection at any one time?

If you don't watch the video then you're not released from the queue. The system thinks you're trying to view more than one video at a time (I.e. start a download in another tab) and thus locks you out. It's part of the bandwidth management.

Is it not possible to do the registering once the file has begun to stream rather than when someone requests the player page? That way anyone who doesn't make it to the player page (and therefore hasn't used any bandwidth) can hit stop on their browser and go back without a problem.

Without knowing the bandwidth issues I can't make a good judgement but from a usability point of view I think opening 2 pages at a time should be allowed.

Either way it's great compared to the old system!

Fair enough point out the bugs in the website, but don't be a pr*ck about it.

I'm very much liking the new system. Had no problems so far on Safari or Firefox on Mac.

I have not visited since 10pm yesterday and the first video I would like to watch and I get, yes you have guessed it.

This is a major issue that needs to be sorted out.

This does cost a fortune to run though. Statistics-wise, adding the flash player approximately doubled the daily transfer over the static download alone (and thats also when they didn't need re-encoding so no file size increases), and all this is still only on a fraction of the bandwidth bill of TV Ark, so I can well understand the initial issues. Relatively speaking, I get it easy! Laughing

I suspect the new TV Ark system will be getting tweaked over the next few days anyway. It seemed like in that first test day no-one had any problems, so perhaps it was opened fully for then, and now they're possibly trying to the absolute minimum. Presumably over the course of a few days they can then tune it for a smoother experience for all. Yeah it's a bit of a buggar if you're one of the users heavily affected in the short term, but if it prevents the whole site going offline for several months due to bandwidth issues in the long term, it'll be worth it!

I do rather think you are letting TV Ark affect your life too much.

Anyone else still getting the "Error: Too many requests too soon. Please hit 'Back' button and try again"? Had it when I last visited a few days ago but then visiting the site last night and tonight still gives the same message - unless I click on 3 links in a row which gives me "Too many connections. Wait until 22:57:33." (and then back to the first error!)

That's ALL I've been getting, Asa.

Strangely, but, when I try to play an audio file, the player says: video has expired, please use 'back to last page'.
I can understand why it happens - the player converts RealVideo files into .mp4 files, but how can it be fixed?

Yes me. It just so happens that after reading your post I might try getting through to the video player but as expected I couldn't (as I still keep getting those same error messages) so I will never be able to view a nostalgic Network SouthEast advert!

Either my eyes have spontaniously combusted or the iNTERACTIVE player is working again.
