The English ITV1 regions may be nearly all gone now, all we are now faced with just ITV1. So out of curiosity, I wondered what if the regions were still around with today's presentation style would have looked like...
Obviously a lot of time and effort has been spent on these mocks, and they look great. My only real concern are the Safe Areas - but then again, in 2005 will anything be 4:3 safe??
I take it I'm missing something then. The page seems to cut out after "So came October 2002, ready for the dreaded relaunch of ITV1, Granada was pushing for a blanket single ITV1 branding in its regions and it hoped that Carlton-Un" and theres nothing after that, I've tried refreashing but nothing happens.
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't HTV owned by Granada and then sold to Carlton once GMG bought United? Just nitpicking, but great mocks.
Yup you are right, Granada Media did own HTV for a couple of months, but due to their expanding empire they had to sell HTV otherwise they would be breaking the rules and obivously a couple of months after HTV went to Carlton. Someone should do a mock to see what would have happened if HTV was still a part of GMG.
Thanks to you guys for your comments, most of them sound positive!
In answer about HTV -
Yes that is correct HTV used to be owned by Granada, but with Meridian and Anglia, it also used to be owned by United then Granada bought all of United's 3 regions, then Carlton got HTV, Meridian and Anglia remained with Granada. Hope this helps!
