So, its Gabby Logan who will take over from Ray Stubbs as presenter of Final Score.
I have no doubts about Logan's capability but, it has to be said, there have been VERY few female presenters of Saturday afternoon results shows down the years. IIRC the only women ever to present Grandstand on a normal football day were Hazel Irvine and Helen Rollason, and very rarely at that. It'll be interesting to see if Logan's appointment changes the dynamic or pace of the programme - lets face it, 'Score' has become a poor man's Soccer Saturday in recent times.
(Logan never presented 'The Goal Rush' on ITV, did she?)
This leads me to think that Manish Bhasin will anchor the Football League highlights shows, alongside Football Focus - he's covered the FL before for Central. I wouldn't be surprised if Lineker does the live games, considering it's the only live football the BBC have this season.

She did present "On The Ball" which was a bit like Football Focus, but never presented the Goal Rush.
Oh well, it's Soccer Saturday for me this season... COME ON YOU SAINTS!!
Thought so . . .

A part of me was secretly happy when it emerged Le Tiss wouldn't be taking over at Southampton. Saturdays just aren't the same really without Le Tiss and the rest of the gang.

Nothing can beat Soccer Saturday at all, I'm sure you'll be cheering along with Le Tissier there Rob.

Did Gaby co-present the first incarnation of Soccer Saturday along with Paul Dempsey on Sky Sports, before Lord Jeff of Stelling too over? I seem to remember she may have done, so doing a fast moving scores programme isn't exactly alien to her. Sitting next to slouching Garth Crooks will be though.
Anyway, I'm amused that Gaby Logan will be taking over on Score/Final Score. Given that she fails to do even 4 weeks in a row of her Sunday show on Radio Five Live, then Manish may be required to double shift a few Saturdays this season.
Although, I actually expected Dan Walker to be the new host - he seems to be the rising star of BBC Sport these days....

Dan Walker?
Superb reporter, BUT I think he seems happy enough doing the News Channel with the occasional awayday. He'd be a loss to the NC if he was to move from reporting to presentation.
I suspect the whole question of Salford would enter anyone's thoughts with BBC Sport moves now. If he wants to stay in London it'd be daft to do a programme that will end up at Media City. I'm presuming that the NC's sports reporters will stay in London post MC's opening.

Completely surreal watching Sky Sports 1 this evening and seeing the familiar graphics...but in a League of Ireland ground, which normally seats 3,000 and gets cursory coverage on RTÉ's MNS, never mind any attention whatsoever from Sky. And didn't Shamrock Rovers do well, holding Real for 86 minutes...
Where is Sports Saturday (Soccer Saturday's summer incarantion) this year?

I'm quite surprised by that - they're obviously making her earn her keep. I'm not quite sure it's the right show for Gabby too - she seems better suited to the magazine type format than the live rolling format.
Although I'd prefer Manish on Focus, if it's him and Logan doing Saturday afternoons, I think Gabby is better suited to Focus and him to Final Score. It wouldn't surprised me if Jake Humphrey took over once the F1 season is over.

It was announced a couple of weeks ago that he would be moving to Manchester when the move takes place, so I expect he will be taking more main presenting roles in the near future.
