FIFA seem to have adopted UEFA's policy of making generic opening title sequences for tournaments, if this afternoons FIFA Confederations Cup coverage on RTÉ was anything to go by - opening titles began with a big FIFA logo and the sponsor names were carried during the opening title sequence - just like a UEFA tournament, in fact.
I wonder will the BBC use these titles - coverage starts in ten minutes on BBC Three so we'll see soon. I recall that they didn't use the generic titles for Euro 2008 (well, not as opening titles anyway, they made some occassional use of them as stings).

They're using the standard titles with Match of the Day theme tune.
I expect it'll be like the Olympics - the BBC use their own titles for scheduled programmes, but for the afternoon games when dipping into the feed purely for the coverage they might be some glimpses of the official titles.

It's the MOTD theme tune alright (and branded as "Match of the Day", too), but not the official titles - its just various shots of the countries involved in action. The BBC would have had the alter the generic titles anyway as they contain sponsorship (though I'm sure they are not the only broadcaster in this position???).
By the time the game started, I had gone out - did they use the official graphics during the game like RTÉ are or just regular BBC Sport graphics?
Host broadcaster images were used overlaid with the traditional BBC MOTD Score and Clock graphic, similar to the UEFA CL on ITV. At fixed points during the game the HB scoreboard was shown.
Is just Eurosport showing the new combined Eastbourne Tennis championships?
In previous years the BBC would show the womens tournament from Eastbourne (though not much of it), while the mens at Nottingham, which has now been relocated to Eastbourne, was on Sky.
Neither Sky or the BBC seem to have it scheduled though, so I'm guessing it's just on Eurosport?
It is indeed a pretty diminished men's line-up at Eastbourne, however it is a shame the BBC couldn't have held on to the rights, as it did indicate a commitment to women's tennis in the sense that - alongside Queen's - the BBC covered a pre-Wimbledon men's AND women's event.
However in recent years network coverage from Eastbourne had been limited to 45 minutes for the quarters and semis, and just the final live. So I suppose it was to be expected.
Only five hours of the allotted 7.5 hours of tennis coverage was used over the weekend on BBC1/BBC2 - and the spare time was filled with Homes under the Hammer, Flog It, Coast etc. It always puzzled me that why, when sporting events finish EARLY, the BBC fills with completely unrelated programming. E.g., the tennis was billed from 1300-1740 on Saturday, but in fact finished at 1610. Surely someone tuning in at 1630 - expecting to watch tennis - would prefer to watch something tennis-related rather than a property auction show. It's a shame, IMO, they couldn't have stuck with the tennis and showed some live doubles from Queen's.
I have to say RTÉ are always very good at keeping the overall look of whatever they are covering, be it the confederations cup, Champs league etc in line with the host broadcaster, as mentioned MOTD used their own style clock scoreboard and I'm sure any linking analysis and interviews carried BBC Sport titles, where as RTÉ made up a scoreboard to match that of the Host broadcaster's match graphics including who they have commentating.
The only time I see RTÉ not doing this however is during the six nations which oddly enough are BBC graphics.

When going into the highlights of the early match, they showed the official FIFA sting for "JOHANNESBURG" - it's like in Euro 2008 and, I think, the last World Cup in that when they cross to and from the stadium they're obliged to show the official stings.
They used the host broadcaster's graphics presumably because it's a very cheap production and they couldn't be bothered with the expense. Presumably, when the World Cup comes around they'll do what they did at the last few World Cups and arrange for a feed with the own graphics instead of the generic ones (unlike ITV, who use the generic ones).

I dont think the situation is helped by clashing with Royal Ascot - though its a shame they arent showing the final at least
