Big Ivan was back tonight for his first report as a freelancer, and thankfully, Marc Mallett did the weather instead of Julian.

And the FlyBe sports sponsorship on UTV Live has finished too, given the cuts to the online version of UTV Live so far this week (the programme was unedited tonight), I'm not sure if it ended today or stopped last Friday.

Those titles look quite cheap and nasty looking to me to be honest, the LIVE most so.

Indeed. Something similar to the type of basic affair you'd see in the 1980s, when TV networks first started to use computer graphics.

Something tells me that Mr Mallet wouldn't mind being the object of your desire lol

From three years ago, mind. And I've noticed he wears a ring.

But, steering the thread back on track... a proper live two-way on UTV Live for a change. But will next week see the two-way graphic windows finally fixed to proper 16:9?

(I would try to redress the balance with remarks about female totty at UTV... if there was any to talk about. There's only Gillian Porter and her gorgeous smile left now.)

This graphic was used on last night's UTV Live in a piece about The People's Millions:

It looks like UTV have pasted over the network version of this graphic (the shapes still visible under the "entry pack" banner, the rectangle around the disclaimer) - hence could UTV have the ITV 2006 font family at their disposal after all?

All the regions' graphics look like that - there's a sequence of a few screens where the banner gets "covered up". Look a bit silly IMO. With regard to the ITV font, what do you think UTV use on their weather graphics?

UTV's weather graphics are put together by the National Weather team in London and sent down the line, that's been the case for at least 10 years now.

There have been special break bumpers all day today promoting the new look this evening.

Interesting new look. Hate the music at the beginning of the UTV Live @ 6.. just seems like they've added an echo and with the graphics, it kind of reminds me something from the early 90's.

Astons animate well, but having the UTV Live dog at the top coming to life every-time an aston appears is unnecessary imo.

Sorry to dash the dreams but Mr Mallet has a man in his life Smile
