Nice to see some use of the robot at the start and end of bulletins - adds nice variety aside from the railcam every time. They stopped using it properly months before the relaunch.
On one particular Nine a few days back, they left the robot extended up quite high and so it actually blocked the view of the railcam when it glided by at the end of the bulletin!
did anyone see pat keeny on the late late show last night? for the first time he actually looked like a good presenter
The Senate debate? Yeah was excellent, Pat Kenny really excelled. That's what he's like on the radio with issues likes that, knows everything and asks the best questions.
We may have won the Grand Slam, but the Recession continues - TV3 have now axed Sports Tonight, which reduces their live Irish programming by another 2 1/2 hours. This follows their axing of all weekend news bulittens late last year and their previous replacement of TV3 News at 6:30 with their ET clone, Xpose.
They **must** be in breach of their franchise committments by now, though I can't see the BCI doing much about it at this stage...
On a temporary basis at least, yes. The programme was cancelled at very short notice (a first in Irish TV I reckon) and TV3 had nothing to fill a 20 minute slot with, so they extended Nightly News last night.
Once the schedules have been sorted Nightly News will probably return to its previous lenght.
Pat Kenny announced he's leaving the Late Late tonight which I'm sort of sad about. But he will be doing another show on Monday nights to replace Questions and Answers.
Just saw a promo for RTE's new business show called Smart Money
presented by Richard Crowley. It's starts on Saturday April 4th on RTE 2 @ 7.30
The promo showed Richard standing up in studio 3.
A weird airtime though and it's on RTE 2!
Yeah, thought it was good. Prime Time with Brian Lenihan and some eejit from Fine Gael constantly interrupting him was classic, Miriam did well to keep them apart.
